Tales From The Keystone State…is an online zine and writing project curated by Pennsylvania native and artist Manoli Despines.
We believe that Pennsylvania and every state in America has a surface level history and mythos. However, underneath that surface one may discover an unease, a forgotten history or cultures, feelings, and emotions only they could experience having lived there themselves.
the goal of the project is to collect eccentric, nostalgic, cryptic and magical realist stories about peoples’ experiences living in the state of Pennsylvania in order to create an immersive, illustrative experience of what it feels like to live there - even if the reader has never been there before.
